This year we were nominated and won an award for Communities in Bloom 2009. Communities in Bloom are a non-profit Canadian beautification program that provides Bloom Ratings for achievement in floral, and landscaped areas. We are privileged enough to accept this award for our landscaped area, which Tuc’s Contracting, N.T.S. , and Tuccaro Inc. all contributed to achieving.

NTS restored their status as being in the top 700 of 160,000 Alberta based companies. The award is made to businesses acheving outstanding safety performance while maintaining COR status. The award currently goes to the top half a percentile of companies.

"Thanks for all your hard work in helping us restore the Best Safety Performer Status. It takes a concerted team effort, especially the frontline workers, our employees and supervisors, to accomplish such a feat and we have to ensure that we build on this for the coming year." - Kevin Best - Operations Manager.

Fort McMurray, Alberta

Marked by a grand opening event on November 6th, NTS Ltd. and Water Pure & Simple Ltd. launch their new $6 million facility on MacAlpine Crescent. The 41,000 square foot facility features a sophisticated geological core processing floor, a fully equipped laboratory, offices and warehouse space. The facility will allow NTS to continue to provide local services in support of the oilsands and establishes analytical testing capabilities.

The other major portion of the development is a new facility to house Water Pure & Simple Ltd. a leading producer of purified water. Having spent the last 15 years producing premium bottled water in the downtown core, WPS’s move to the new location is supported by an all new bottling plant and distribution center.

Dave Tuccaro, President & CEO:
“We’re excited about it. Our businesses are all about local involvement and while this may not be the billion dollar announcement that we’ve all become accustom to hearing, it’s certainly our largest single investment and one we are proud to demonstrate. In order for Fort McMurray businesses to deliver high quality service, the infrastructure has to be there to support it.”

The facility is expected to allow continued expansion and provide up to 60 new jobs. NTS and WPS are part of the Tuccaro Inc. Group of Companies that also own Neegan Development (Heavy Equipment Services) and Tuc’s Contracting Ltd. (Potable Water/Sewer Services).
